Thanks for stopping by! From the start every blog, expense to keep the site up has been a one man job. Readership has grown over the years which has increased the cost to maintain the site. Providing Wichita with a great free resource to highlight businesses and restaurants has been a lot of fun.

Aside from working my 8-5 job and raising a family, this has mostly been a full-time hobby that’s extremely time-consuming and costly but still a joy to do. If you would like to help support the site in anyway, your patronage would be greatly appreciated.

While the budget at Wichita By E.B. is extremely low, I’d like to give small tokens of appreciation:

$5 – Thank You Level
Recognition on our Patron page for a year.

$10 – Sticky Level
The above + a Wichita By E.B. sticker so you can display on your laptop, food truck, door, mailbox, car bumper, or even on your face.

$25 – Magnetic Level

$50 – Koozie Level
The above + a Wichita By E.B. koozie! Drink in style with the best koozie in town!

$100 – Feature Level

Anybody who knows me, knows I’ve fallen in love with the Kansas State Fair in recent years. After my brother and sister-in-law kind of re-introduced me to it, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed going. Now as a father, I hope to make it a yearly tradition to take my daughter and show her the sights and sounds of the fair….

But most importantly, the food.

The organizers over at the Kansas State Fair sent me over a list of some of the new foods to expect this year.

All of it starts with this.

Krispy Kreme Hot Dog
Just when you thought Carousel Cafe’s Krispy Kreme hamburger was quirky. Behold, the Krispy Kreme hot dog covered in bacon. A fresh jelly-stuffed Krispy Kreme donut is used as the bun. It’s filled with an Angus beef hot dog topped with more jelly and finished off with thick Applewood smoked bacon.

Kansas’ Big Pork Shank
This pork shank is smoked to perfection with a sweet Caribbean seasoning.

Location: Y-2 Enterprises, 306 Cottonwood Ave

Honey Bun Burger
Fresh beef patties from Yoder Meats are sandwiched between two warm Honey Buns, then topped with fresh veggies, often served with a slice of melted cheese. To top it off, you can add Applewood smoked bacon OR chocolate covered bacon, which serves as the perfect compliment to this sweet and salty burger!

Location: Carousel Cafe

Dole Whip
Yep, the treat that’s becoming more popular in Wichita thanks to Crafted will be at the fair.

The perfect mixture of creamy and fruity is served from a soft-serve machine, creating a refreshing treat the entire family will love. It’s also non-dairy.

Location: Carousel Cafe

Fried Cheesecake Bites
A new twist on cheesecake! Deep fried and bite sized. No mess, just deliciousness. Topped with powdered sugar and cherry drizzle.

Located at Brackett Concession’s cookie dough stand, 303 Fort Riley Boulevard.

Papa Pup
Just when you thought life couldn’t get any better … the 10-inch Papa Pup is here! This giant of a Pronto Pup is hickory smoked and cooked in the original Pronto Pup batter. Located at D & J Pronto Pups’ five yellow booths stationed around the Fairgrounds.

You can expect some coverage on these foods when the Kansas State Fair runs from September 6 through the 15.
