You’re trying to get away for an evening. Perhaps get a little dressy whether it’s some dark jeans and a button up, slacks, a cute skirt and blouse, whatever it may be. You want to take your significant other out for a nice meal. You’re trying to impress that first date. Perhaps you forgot to put the toilet seat down and in dire need of an apologetic dinner. In the end, all you want is a nice romantic dinner but don’t know where to go.
Here are my top ten picks for restaurants to consider for your next romantic date night.
4618 E Central Ave, Wichita, KS 67208
The best French restaurant in town has greatly improved the ambiance with their renovation. They feature modern French dishes and have something for all taste buds. Whether it’s streak frites, scallops, or an awesome selection of dessert, this is that will certainly impress.
2146 Collective Ln, Wichita, KS 67206
Tucked away over off of east 21st street, I think Lola’s Bistro is one of the most underrated restaurants in town. From the quality of service, quiet atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is one of our personal favorites for some alone time. Plus their duck dish is my absolute favorite meal in Wichita.
104 S Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202
Maybe you’re looking for a staycation. You want to book a room and dine there. I would rank Siena Steakhouse as the best restaurant in a hotel. With high ceilings, an open layout, a friendly staff, it has all the makings of a great romantic dinner. Plus I love their eclectic menu which strays away from boring.
1706 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67214
Don’t have all evening for your dinner? Piatto has you covered. The pizzeria located closed to downtown has an awesome patio and their pizzas are baked within 90 seconds. It’s one of the lesser priced options on this list so you can save on babysitting with a quick meal and affordable food.
5325 E Kellogg Dr, Wichita, KS 67218
Probably my favorite steakhouse in town, it’s been made even better with their recent renovations. It’s completely changed from the old mafia-like interior of old. If wine is your thing, they have you covered too because who doesn’t want a nice glass of wine with their steak? I’m not a big wine drinker but will even get a bottle on every visit.
1900 N Rock Road, Wichita, KS 67206
When it comes to seafood, Newport Grill reigns supreme for me. If can grab a seat on the patio during a nice autumn evening which overlooks the back end of Bradley Fair, you’re in for a treat.
1844 N Rock Road, Wichita, KS 67206
When it comes to consistency of service, I’m not sure anyone does it better than Redrock Canyon Grill. It is always spot on. Plus the tables are large and give you a little privacy since everything is not so crowded inside. If you go, it’s likely the Hawaiian ribeye is the special of the day as that always seems to be the special. Don’t worry, it’s pretty good.
120 N West Street, Wichita, KS 67203
Want a quiet relaxing time at a traditional Italian restaurant? Bella Vita Bistro is your place. Get your taste buds ready as this isn’t the Olive Garden style of Italian food so many people have gravitated to. You’re in for a real treat here.
229 E William Street, Wichita, KS 67202
Cafe Bel Ami has been around for quite a while and home to the best Caesar salad in town. They have French, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods to satisfy any craving you may have. The interior is certainly a little dated but the food more than makes up for it.
3088 W 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67203
For the final option, you may want a date night with a group of friends. P.M. Sessions at the Canvas by Gaga’s Grub is the way to go. It’s a private dinner at their kitchen where you’re given around an 11-course blind menu. You can bring in your own drinks and all the dishes are brought out to you one by one. You’re seated at the only table in the place and can have a fantastic time with your loved ones and friends.
Check any ten of these options out and you are sure to impress. If not, then it’s you not the food.
