A big question many people have been asking has been, “When is the west-side Los Compades Mexican Grill going to open?”
The popular Mexican restaurant which moved from their Central and Zoo Boulevard location to their now 3827 W. 13th Street address in the former Maggie’s Scotch & Soda has been closed for quite some time.
Owners decided to close it down for improvements back in January. Delays and the opening their second location out east took a bit hit on time. Seven months later, diners are still itching for their west-side restaurant to return.
I reached out to them and they acknowledged it has definitely extended beyond their expectation. They have a couple things left to do and now hope to be up and running by the end of the month.
One thing I’ve noticed over the years is there are so many hurdles in getting a restaurant opening. So anytime you hear a tentative date, always take that with a grain of salt. If you’ve ever been a part of an opening, you know exactly how hard it can be. I understand some frustration that may come from diners but what can you do?
