AMC Theatres has started a pilot to air Sunday NFL games on their big screens and Wichita was one of those cities selected.
With the purchase of a $10 prepaid event food & beverage card, you get a seat in the theatre for no additional charge.
This Sunday for instance, they are airing Titans at Browns, Colts at Chargers and Falcons at Vikings. You can reserve your seat in one of their auditoriums. I looked at it and Sunday looks to hold 52 people with additional spots to accommodate wheelchairs.
From there you can then eat, drink and enjoy the games in the comfort of the theatre.
After looking into it more, it looks as though they will only air up to four out-of-market games. So Chiefs fans will be out of luck. They said:
Unfortunately, local team games are not available to AMC due to the rights of local broadcast affiliates. Only select games outside the local market will be available based on professional football broadcast rules.
You also have to be an AMC Stubs members to get in but that is free so shouldn’t be an issue.
To get a ticket, you can go to amctheatres.com, the AMC Theatres mobile app, or at the box office of participating theatres.
If you’re curious as to what games are going to air, the schedule is available here the Friday before each Sunday.
Great idea I wish more theaters be dedicated just NFL games
The Starlight Drive In is showing the KC Chiefs games… a lot of fun it feels like you’re tailgating at the game. And you see the game on the big screen.
