Checking out the Southeast Carryout breakfast menu

A couple of months ago, Southeast Carryout announced they were serving breakfast. I made a promise to stop by and check it out for all of you so here’s that commitment fulfilled.

The breakfast menu (found below) at Southeast Carryout is very basic and no frills. It consists of your simple staples like eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, etc.

I went with their classic breakfast and an order of biscuits and gravy.

The classic breakfast came with 2 eggs, bacon, ham, sausage and potatoes. Unless it’s me doing the cooking, I find it hard to mess this up. They are such simple items that the average person probably couldn’t tell the difference between many of them in a blind taste test of different restaurants.

I’m never wowed by classic breakfast items but as long as I’m satisfied that’s all that matters. I’ll add that I did enjoy the gravy on the biscuits. There were plenty of meat chunks to go around and really fill you up.

Bottom line, you’re not getting anything overly special here. It’s no frills, affordable and covers a breakfast need in an area that’s pretty short on breakfast options. The Harry and Oliver vicinity isn’t exactly a big food hub in the morning especially with Brint’s Diner up north long gone. The closest option is Denny’s further west on Harry.

Here’s the breakfast menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
