We’ve been trying to cover different and unique experience families can try, and one that caught our eye was glassblowing at Karg Art Glass. They have sessions until the end of the year that allow you to create your own ornament.
From now until December 31st, you can blow your own ornament every day, except for Wednesdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. This was something we tried to do in previous years, but spots filled up, and we were unable to get in. So, call as soon as you decide to go!

They said blowing your own ornament is best for ages 5 and up.
On the day of your appointment, we were able to choose the style of ornament we liked along with the colors.
After that, we walked into the back room where all the magic took place. They had the glass ready to go and dipped it in the colors of your choice.
Between all the five kids, they all had a great time, shared some laughs and just oohed and awed at the ornaments being made. It took all of maybe a minute for the kids to blow their ornaments. We were easily in and out in 30 minutes. Instead of trying how it’s all done, perhaps it’s better explained in this short video.
Ornaments were ready in just under a week when we returned to pick them up. Aside from that, the staff was very professional, patient and courteous throughout.
Now, many of you are probably curious how much this cost. Ornaments were $35 plus tax and it is all by appointment only. Those spots do fill up fast, as we found out last year. If you’re scoffing at the price, just be aware this is something you get to keep forever…… as long as you don’t break it. We made one for our youngest daughter as a keepsake. It’ll be cool to have through the years as a little memory from when she was younger.
Definitely a fun, unique holiday experience in town worth trying.
