Pumpkin spice isn’t over yet!
Reverie Coffee Roasters is hosting the first ever Pumpkin Spiced Showdown on Thursday, November 21st from 6:30pm to 8pm. It’s a one-of-a-kind competition to celebrate the coming end of the Pumpkin Spice Latte season.
Local coffee shops will compete to show off its unique pumpkin spiced coffee concoctions.
Each café team will designate one member to prepare three drinks for the esteemed judges to sample. They are allowed five minutes to prepare and describe their creation, encouraged to elaborate on the methods and ingredients used for creating their proprietary drink recipes. Another five minutes will be allotted for the café representatives to prepare samples for the audience to cast votes.
Judges will then score pumpkin spiced lattes based on appearance, presentation performance and taste, with most of the score weighted on flavor. Judge’s Choice will be awarded for top latte in addition to The People’s Choice. Prizes mostly include bragging rights, but a unique custom-made trophy will be issued to the winner, with the intention of travelling to future competitions annually. The event will be held inside Reverie’s flagship café, located at 2202 E. Douglas Ave. in Wichita.

Participants so far include Reverie Coffee Roasters (Wichita), Jane’s Landing (Mulvane), Little Lion Café (Wichita), Ecclesia Coffee Shop (Wichita), Sunflower Espresso (Wichita) & Arrow Coffee Co. (Manhattan). There will be up to 10 competitor slots available.
The cost is $10 per café and free for spectators to attend.
