More ramen has arrived to Wichita in the form of Yokohama Ramen Izakaya. It’s the sequel to the popular Delano restaurant, Yokohama Ramen Joint.
Located at Normandie Center, the new restaurant brings a more open layout with plenty of seating when compared to their original location.

Three of us stopped by for lunch and were able to get a seat quickly.
We immediately started off with the grilled squid appetizer. It came with a little side of QP mayo. Megan and a friend, Chris, were with me and while squid wasn’t necessarily their cup of tea, I was left in charge of finishing the plate. Squid can be pretty chewy at times especially when you get to the tentacles. By comparison, this was more tender than most grilled squid I’ve had. I was a big fan and loved the flavor of it.
For lunch, we had the Spicy Garlic Yakisoba and two of their ramen bowls. All of the dishes came out quickly, and we were on our way to some happy taste buds.
There wasn’t any noticeable difference in quality from the original location to the new Yokohama Ramen Izakaya spot. The noodles were spicy just as ordered to the point it brought some sweat beads. It came with chicken, pork and shrimp and was extremely filling with its large portion size.
We had similar experiences with ramen in the fact that it didn’t miss a beat. I went with my favorite, spicy garlic miso, and enjoyed every last sip.
Just like the food, the service was fantastic and we all left very satisfied. This is a big win for the Normandie Center as they grow the little food scene at that strip center.
They have a HUGE menu that spans many pictures. So instead of posting every single picture again, I have those here that you can access.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
