Golden Grahams S’mores Bites Review

I’m an anomaly. While many people hate going to the grocery store, I love it. I’m that guy that will slowly walk up and down each aisle and see what’s new on the shelf.

At Dillon’s I came across Golden Grahams S’mores Bites. First thought was, “This should be for the family!” It was only $5 for a box of 30. Within minutes, they were in my grocery cart awaiting self checkout.

We are big on S’mores at home and make them multiple times throughout the year especially outside during the summer.

The instructions to cook them only include putting them in the microwave for 30 seconds. I was shocked to see that there weren’t oven directions for them.

After 30 seconds in the microwave, I was quick to take a bite into them. I fall victim to pizza rolls every time and am left with burns inside my mouth. I’m not a patient person so dug in while everybody else waited. Chocolate was the overwhelming flavor in these bites. They did a decent job of resembling the taste. There was a small hint of marshmallow and the shell of the bites did it’s best to try to match the graham cracker. Overall at $5 it was alright.

The biggest takeaway was you kind of felt cheated from the experience of making a s’more which is where the fun really is at. Plus Megan and the kids weren’t too high on the texture of it. With it being a microwave prepared snack, it was kind of chewy and rubbery. We imagine it would have been better had it been cooked in the oven. But they agreed the flavor was decent and still an OK purchase at the $5 price tag.

Would we get these again? Maybe if they were on sale for $3-4 perhaps. But otherwise, it’s likely we will just stick to whatever other new gimmick items the grocery stores can put on display.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
