Here it is. Wichita’s Triple-A baseball team is Wind Surge.
The name, logo and uniforms were announced at the unveiling at The Wave this evening. They had a Facebook Live you can rewatch here. There was an intro video with a big focus on the word ‘wind’. I for sure thought it was going to be Wichita Wind and then the name Wind Surge appeared to the crowd.
So much for Wichita Windy’s Spicy Chicken Nuggets. That would have been a super unique name.
Now with the unveil, the next step is the home opener which is set for Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Once the season begins, the Wind Surge will play 70 home games at the new stadium.
