Must Try Menu Item: Songbird Juice Co.'s Acai Bowls

It’s time to make another suggestion or an item you should give a shot to in Wichita. The latest stop brought us to Songbird Juice Co. They recently made the move from their original location to 1617 Briggs St. While they may be more known for their juices, we went a different route for this particular feature. Let’s get on with the latest installment in the “Must Try Menu Item” feature.

Have you ever tried an acai bowl? It’s a dish served in a bowl and has fruit along with granola and banana. The first time I tried one was three years ago and my family loved it. On my return visit to Songbird Juice Co., I knew instantly to order another one. Since I had their Sunflower bowl, I went with the Nutty Bluebird this time around. It was made with banana, almond milk and topped with granola, blueberry, more bananas and almond butter.

What surprises me every time is the Acia bowl did a great job of filling me up over lunch. I loved every bite of it and made sure there wasn’t a single drop left in my bowl. It was really refreshing and a nice break from the really heavy lunch items I’m accustomed to. Once I mixed everything together, it was a blast of many flavors that balanced each other out. I’m not sure why I don’t get these more often.

On top of the delicious bowls, the staff has always been very friendly on my visits there. The new location also had a more open layout which was nice since their original location just felt crammed at times.
