Let’s review Chipotle!

If you’ve been living under a rock and never heard of this restaurant, they are a fast casual chain that is popular for their build-your-own assembly line of burritos and tacos. The chain has over 2,500 locations all over the world with seven in the Wichita area.

The restaurant is also popular for its many public relations issues ranging from hepatitis, norovirus, E. coli, salmonella, and some data breaches. Chipotle must have nine lives because it’s been able to make it through controversy after controversy.

For the purposes of this review, we stopped by the Maple & Ridge location.

We all stuck with three burritos bowls to go ranging from a mix of carnitas, chicken and steak. The cost of those bowls were between $7-8 with the only major price addition coming in if you wanted guacamole for $2.25. There’s just something about Chipotle’s guacamole that gets me every time. I’m such a sucker for it and will sometimes splurge the extra couple bucks for it.

Despite all their food safety concerns in the past, people keep going back. Personally I don’t get caught up in those issues. If I see a restaurant violation on the inspection reports put out by the Eagle, I don’t blink an eye and will go to those restaurants with little concern.

On our visit to Chipotle, everybody enjoyed it. The food tasted fresh and was certainly filling. The big difference I’ve seen from Chipotle compared to other places liked Qdoba or the closed Freebirds World Burrito was consistency. The countless times I’ve been to Chipotle whether with family or work carryout orders is you know what you’re getting. And the service has always been phenomenal at Chipotle. There has probably been a couple of times they messed up a carryout order but each time they would give gift cards in exchange with no questions asked. When it comes to convenience, their online ordering is one of the easiest things for group orders at work.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
