Those who have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Sam’s Southern Eatery can mark a new date on their calendar. After having their January 15 date cancelled, it looks like January 29th is the new big day.
The restaurant located at 6600 W Central is a Louisiana-based chain that specializes in “Offering high quality food, healthy eating options, and generous portions at competitive prices is what drives our success.”
They made the announcement via their Facebook page. The location may be familiar to most people as the former Marcos Cantina space out west which also held the very short-lived Pueblo Viejo Family Mexican Restaurant.
The full-service sit down will have catfish, po boys, burgers, shrimp, oysters, chicken and an assortment of other fried items. Their logo says they are “Home of the Jumbo Shrimp”. I’m always game for Southern cuisine so have this one on my calendar.
