Wendy’s now serving breakfast in Wichita

In an effort to increase sales and compete with the force that is McDonald’s, Wendy’s has launched breakfast which is now available in the Wichita market.

While this isn’t the first time Wendy’s has tried breakfast, it’s a first time for me.

The new breakfast menu consist of many breakfast sandwiches and also brought back the Frosty-cino which is a smooth, cold-brewed coffee swirled with their chocolate or vanilla Frosty mix and served over ice.

I decided to give it a try on my way to work and went with their breakfast baconator and a vanilla Frosty-cino. Here is what the baconator looks like in the add.

As usual, pictures can always be deceiving. Here’s what I received. Mine still had all the same ingredients listed from the grilled sausage, American cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, a fresh-cracked grade A egg, more cheese and more bacon all covered in Swiss cheese sauce. It just wasn’t as plump and smashed down a bit more. Oh well, not the end of the world as long as it tasted good right?

Starting off with the bad, the seasoned potatoes were slightly seasoned and really just bland, dry and unappealing. I ate maybe a handful before calling it quits. The breakfast baconator itself was quite delicious in an unhealthy, unapologetic, and guilty pleasure type of way. It was extremely greasy but washed down well with the vanilla Frosty-cino which was fairly tasty.

While I’m not too much of a breakfast sandwich type of guy, I was definitely satisfied with this sandwich. I’m also not a coffee guy but enjoyed the Frosty-cino which had a bright vanilla aftertaste. It’s something I could see myself drinking again.

If you’re going, the drive-thru opens at 6:30am and the dining room opens at 9am. Breakfast runs until 10:30am.

While it may not be for everybody, there’s certainly a segment of the dining population who enjoys fast food breakfast. I’m someone who likes to try everything everywhere so had to give it a go when word got out that breakfast was available. I also have zero shame. So if you’re like me, try it out and see what you think for yourself.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
