There’s a new family friend magic-themed entertainment venue in the Douglas Design District called Blackhart’s Magic Theater. Located at 1520 E Douglas, the theater features talented traveling magicians, mentalists, mind-readers, escape artists and more. Always looking for something different to do, we stopped by over the weekend to check it out.

Blackhart’s Magic Theater isn’t just an entertainment venue. They are also a shop that sells all sorts of magic tricks that the owners and employees will display for you. While people waited for the show to begin, there were a couple tricks being put on for those in the shop/lobby area.
Now for the magic shows which run every week from Thursday through Sunday. You can purchase tickets online or at the show. Prices varied from $10 to $25 with the cheaper prices being available online. They also run different specials such as $10 for kids 11 and under. The best way to see is to follow them on Facebook.
Acts can vary week by week. The night we stopped by, it was Korso who was a comedian/magician.
I was told the theater room seats roughly around 100 people.
The show lasted roughly an hour and everybody laughed, clapped, cheered, oohed and aahed as the magic went on. The audience seemed to enjoy it all. It was an interactive show where the attendees were asked to participate in various spots of the night.
There were plenty of kids of all ages for those curious. We had fun and the kids did as well. I LOVE magic and always wanted to be one growing up. I stopped by a magic show while on a trip to Chicago and am really glad to have an option closer to home now. I’m all for more family fun in the Wichita area and will easily support Blackhart’s Magic Theater in the near future.
Definitely a fun unique experience in town worth trying. If you’re interested in going, they also have magic classes available and can do birthday/private parties.
