Big changes are in store at the newly branded Hana, more popularly known as Hana Café. For starters, they have decided to re-open the restaurant. While there are changes still taking place in regard to signage, the interior and the menu, fans will be glad to know they can finally return to the downtown restaurant. Many Korean and Japanese dishes will be available on the new menu so that’s something to be excited about.

Hana is still operating under a soft opening status so don’t expect this review to be exactly what it could be like a month or two for now. If anything, use this as a reminder that Hana is back open.
I stopped in real quickly for lunch and started off with maguro butsu which was cubed and marinated raw tuna. I’m really not sure if there’s anything I enjoy more than raw fish. The tuna was incredibly tender, I just wish it made financial sense to order 20 more bowls of it.
I saw they had kimchi and they brought me out a small bowl to sample. They told me it was made in house. After the first couple bites, I was floored. It was probably one of the best, if not the best, kimchi I’ve had in town (with the other being Manna Wok). It had such a nice spicy kick to it that was so flavorful.
Lastly I ordered the bulgogi which was list as thin slices of tender and flavorful beef marinated in our delicious Korean bulgogi sauce on a sizzling platter with mushrooms and onions. While my order didn’t exactly come out on a sizzling platter, it was a hefty box of food that would fill the average diner up. I would have preferred a little more on the bulgogi sauce but otherwise the meat was tender as advertised.
I’m excited to see what changes come to Hana as the weeks go by and what their new menu looks like. All the servers looked really happy that the restaurant was back open and I could see some regulars coming in chatting it up with everybody.
Expect a return here once they finish their makeover.
Here’s their temporary menu that will be changing later:
Happy Dining,
Eddy
