Buster’s Burger Joint Revisited

One of the reopenings I’ve been looking forward to has been Buster’s Burger Joint. The dedicated burger restaurant finally made their return to waves of customers. I stopped in for lunch and there was no shortage of customers.

If you’ve never been before, for close to 20 years they’ve been serving out old-fashioned greasy burgers. They are literally one of the best no frills burgers you can get in town.

Their burgers are advertised as 1/3 pound patties but for some reason feel slightly bigger than that. For our return, we went with a double hamburger with tots and two hot dogs.

To start one of the best parts about the burger was the bun. It collapsed down on the patty each time I grabbed it and didn’t soak through to the meat. It was like a memory foam pillow but edible. Between the bun was a greasy, delicious patty (or patties if you order multiple) that offered a fresh off the grill taste that burned into my memory… and arteries. It was exactly how a simple burger should be.

We opted for tater tots this time and just love the texture of them. They weren’t soggy and maintained a nice crisp to them.

And the hot dogs? I don’t know if it was nostalgia that got to us, but we both agreed there was nothing better than a hot dog coming off of the grill. That char on the hot dogs were glorious.

Overall it was great to have Buster’s Burger Joint back. I don’t know them personally but by all accounts they’ve been great every time I have stopped by.

When it comes to best burgers in Wichita, they are easily in my top 5.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
