Looks like there is a new BBQ restaurant coming to Wichita.
Crutch BBQ has signage up at the former Dempsey’s Burger Pub on 550 N Rock Road. A reader emailed me saying they have completely renovated the interior and hope to have the restaurant ready to go for a June opening.
I haven’t been able to find anything else online. There’s a Crutch BBQ Facebook page that was created in December 2019 that could very well coincide with the new restaurant.
As for the name of the restaurant, it could be an ode to a method of wrapping meat during smoking called the Texas Crutch.
Once I hear more, I’ll be sure to share.
