At the end of 2019, Las Mananitas at 2347 N Arkansas permanently closed. They announced new local owners were going to take over the place and start a restaurant there under a different name.
A couple months later, the owners of Tacos Alex (also known to many as Mr. Taco) temporarily closed. The reason being they were the new local owners. During the temporary closing, they used the time to renovate Las Mananitas.
The makeover is about complete and a new restaurant by the name of Tacos Perez Mexican Restaurant should be open before month’s end. Their menu will be a major extension of what is served at Tacos Alex/Mr. Taco.
No word yet on what the future holds for the current Mr. Taco location at 25th and Arkansas. Last I heard those plans are still being decided.
