While I was out west doing some shopping in New Market Square, I decided to stop by a locally owned bakery to check out their space. The place was J.Rae’s Bakery. They offer immediately available cheesecakes, cookies, cupcakes and more. I was familiar with them but never stopped in.

I was familiar with J.Rae’s previously through birthday parties, random occasions and even a gift I received.
Their sugar cookies were thick and delicious. Everybody loved the flavor of them, myself included. So based off of these cookies alone, I wanted to see what else they had on hand.
Upon walking inside the store, I really loved the whole color scheme of the place. It felt like I was walking into bakery in a big city. It had this fancy cool appeal to it that I enjoyed.
There were plenty of treats to browse and pick up right then and there from cupcakes to cookies to cheesecakes to cake balls and more.
For a person who eats out a lot like myself, I don’t necessarily have a sweet tooth but my family does. So, I decided to pick up a 5” strawberry cheesecake and a small box of assorted treats for my family as I knew it wouldn’t go to waste.
The treats were not wasted at all. I even partook and had most of the strawberry cheesecake. It wasn’t your typical slice either; more like a big tower of cheesecake with what felt like a sugar cookie crust that I really loved. I kept going back for more of the crust.
All in all, everybody really enjoyed what was brought home. I mean, how could they not? In a household full of sugar lovers, they were easy to please. If you’re in a pinch and looking for quick treats on the go, J.Rae’s is a great solution.
