Wow. I’m speechless and have to update the story of N & J Cafe’s event where 100% of proceeds went to the Lebanese Red Cross.
After tallying up all the donations, proceeds from the food and an extra boost from Tanya’s Soup Kitchen who donated to the cause, the final number was $11,628.86. I’m not sure anybody would have guessed that. The money will now go to help provide food, medicine and housing to those affected in Lebanon’s Beirut explosion.
N & J Cafe located at 5600 E Lincoln was packed even before the start of the event at 11am. Some people waited an 1-3 hours for their food but did not mind at all knowing it was all for a good cause; lots of patience and love on display Saturday. Many people weren’t even able to get food and N & J Cafe wants to apologize for that.
They made a post letting people know that between Tuesday, August 18 and Thursday, August 20, people can come by for a meal on them. I’ll add if you have the funds, pay and leave a good tip. The restaurant essentially gave up an entire day’s revenue for a good cause. This would be a great way of paying it forward to them.
Kudos to not just the restaurants but to everybody who showed up to support.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
