While in Hutchinson, KS, I had to make sure I picked up some tacos. One of my buddies lives in Hutchinson and was game to grab some lunch. After some discussion, we decided on El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant. They were also highly recommended by people online, so I added it to my Day of Dining in Hutchinson list.

After a large lunch, I decided on a small lunch and ordered an al pastor, carne asada and barbacoa taco. My friend went with a couple gorditas with a side of rice. Everything came out in a very timely manner and we were off to the races. Bottles of mild and hot sauce accompanied our meal.
Two of the meats in my tacos really stuck out for me. Their al pastor was fiery red with a sweet blast of flavors that dissolved after the slightly grilled corn tacos followed. It was oh so good but even better for me was the barbacoa which was tender and flavorful. Of the two salsas, the mild green was just what I needed. They were some good tacos that filled my small appetite.
Meanwhile, my buddy really enjoyed his gorditas. They were packed tightly and filling. Two was enough to keep him satisfied and happy over the lunchtime.
It was a nice quick visit to a Mexican restaurant. I had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised.
