Questions have been popping up about some new construction taking place at 29th and Maize just north of the west-side Homegrown. It’s none other than a Torchy’s Tacos. Yep, there is going to be a second Torchy’s Taco coming out west.
It will be located at 2901 N. Maize Road.
The east-side one (which you can read about here) is located at 2191 N. Rock Road will be opening this month. No timetable has been set on when the second one is coming.
And take this rumor with a huge grain of salt but I’m hearing there could be a third one coming…..
If you’re unfamiliar with Torchy’s Tacos, they started out as a food trailer in Austin, TX. Since then, they’ve grown to over 80 locations in the U.S. The closest locations are in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Edmond and Norman. I’ve been to a Torchy’s Tacos location with friends in Texas before years ago and remember all of us liking. That was many years ago so I’m looking forward to a refresher.
As you can guess, the restaurant specializes in tacos. Their motto is ‘Damn Good’ tacos. Here’s a copy of one of their menus.
