A little over a year ago Aria Bakery opened in Normandie Center. Since then, they’ve grown quite the fan base and made it through the early part of the pandemic. If you’ve never been or it’s been a while, we are here for a refresher course. They offer fresh daily baked global delicacies; mainly Persian breads and pastries. And over the course of the year, more delicious treats have been added since their original opening.

The storefront has many items that are ready to grab on the go. Items like apple puffs, napoleon, mashadi, zabaan, tarts, rollet, baklava, and fresh bread are usually typically readily available.
The beauty of Aria Bakery is how affordable everything. Most of the treats range between $1-3. Grabbing a bunch of treats and walking out spending $10-15 is a common thing to do there.
We had a family birthday to celebrate, so we stopped in and picked up a handful of different treats. Everybody picked out what they wanted and it didn’t break the bank.
I settled for mostly sweet treats like their rollete, tiramisu and cheesecake.
People have to remember that by design they are a bakery that offers many Persian breads and pastries. Typically, many of their treats use less sugars so it’s not as sweet as many American desserts can be.
Since their opening they’ve added many new desserts to reach the wide range of different palates out there. If you’re craving something very sweet, Aria Bakery has you covered. But if you’re wanting something a little more traditional in regard to Persian-style delicacies, they’ve got you covered there as well.
My cheesecake was very sweet and delicious. It tasted exactly like how one would expect. Their tiramisu, on the other hand, was different from the norm. It didn’t have that bold cocoa or espresso flavor or any texture from ladyfinger biscuits. It was soft, creamy and had a unique aftertaste that I still enjoyed. Their rollet had a sponge cake texture with a bunch of cream stuffed in the middle; also a fantastic dessert.
I enjoy Aria Bakery; it really breaks the norm of many traditional bakeries and brings something unique and different to the Wichita dessert scene. On top of that, the staff there is always incredibly sweet. They are there to educate and help any customer out which I love. I’ll never pass up an opportunity to be educated on different foods around the world.
Two thumbs up from my family.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
