Smoking a Papa Murphy’s Pizza in a Yoder Smokers Pellet Grill

Ever since I purchased my Yoder Smokers YS480S, smoking a pizza has been high on my list. A while back, we did a made from scratch pizza and had mixed results. This time, we wanted to simplify things and pick up a pizza from Papa Murphy’s.

If you’ve never been to Papa Murphy’s, they sell take and bake pizzas made fresh. They even offer smoking instructions if you own a grill.

I placed an online order for a Papa’s Favorite pizza which was sort of their version of a supreme.

I set my grill to 425. Once it was ready, I placed the pizza with the tray on the top rack of my Yoder.

I grilled it for 25 minutes, turning the pizza every five minutes.

Once it was done, I pulled it out and was in love with everything. From the aroma to the crust, it was pretty perfect and exceeded all expectations I had. There wasn’t too much of a smoked flavor to it which was fine for me. The crust was probably the best part. It had a nice crispy texture to it and was incredibly flavorful.

Here’s what I know, I’ll never bake a pizza in the oven again.
