ABOUT THE OWNERS
Mario Alberto Quiroz Manzanera is much more than “Mario” than his formal name suggests. Yes, he does have four names, but only one that Wichita calls him – He is Mario. He was born the eldest of five siblings (he has three sisters and a brother) and raised in Durango, Mexico. He graduated from Tec de Monterrey with a BA in Business, majoring in Accounting.
He met his wife Mara in 2000 and asked her to join him in an ambitious move to Wichita, Kansas. He had friends who had said he would flourish here and by 2001 he was taking English classes at WSU. He spent the next ten years sharpening his tools and falling in love with Wichita at La Mesa Mexican Restaurants where he worked his way up from server to co-owner. By 2008 he was hungry to start his own restaurant and opened Frida’s Mexican Grill.
In 2013 he took the lessons he learned and the relationships he built at Frida’s and started Molino’s Mexican Cuisine. Voted one of Wichita’s Best Restaurants by the Wichita Eagle People’s Choice Awards. Mario has built many thousands of good meals and has become a mainstay of the Wichita Latino community. Mara and Mario are parents to two teenage sons (Fabrizio and Mario) and are always working actively to make Wichita a better place through building commuinity and sharing generously.

Mario and and his wife Mara have both been in the food business since 2001. They started off their history as the co-owners of La Mesa Mexican Restaurant from 2001-2009. From there, they owned Frida’s Mexican Grill from 2008-2010. What they are most popularly known for now is their Molino’s Mexican Cuisine which opened in 2013 at 1064 N. Waco.

With hearty portions and affordable prices, Molino’s Taqueria is a great option for a casual lunch or a lively dinner out with friends. Our eatery offers a unique comfort Mexican food, from flavorful street tacos to a big burrito or the famous Piratas. Add a refreshing cerveza or a Margarita with your combo and have a wonderful experience with us.
WHY WE STARTED THE BUSINESS
Always believe America is the land of opportunities, as an Immigrant, I came from my homeland Mexico 18 years ago, many ups and downs through the years, but Wichita gave me the opportunity to start from scratch, I was born in a different country, not America, but I became Wichitan by choice, I love ICT and We feel so blessed for the opportunity we’ve received, the privilege to feed and expose our culture to the Wichita community and the acceptance from all the people across the city
THE MENU
MOST POPULAR ITEM
Our Molino’s famous piratas, are giant grilled tacos on 8-inch tortillas served using tortillas fresh made with the tortilla-making machine that is situated at the beginning of the line. Customers can watch while they wait as dough balls drop in and fresh tortillas slide out. We also serve fresh tortillas to go as well as our fresh made salsas.
