Los Cunados Mexican Grill set to replace Bob & Luigi’s space in Bel Aire

Last month, we broke the news that the Bob & Luigi’s space at 4559 N. Woodlawn was finally being taken over by a new restaurant.

Sources told me that the owners of Playa Azul Mexican Restaurant took the space and planned to open a new restaurant. At that time, it wasn’t known whether it would be called Playa Azul or opened under a different name. I haven’t been able to confirm directly with the owners if that was indeed the case though.

The building is currently going through renovations and it appears a temporary sign has been posted in front noting that Los Cunados Mexican Grill would be coming soon. Thanks to Kyle Deal who sent in the picture.

No word yet on when the restaurant will open. The north area of town has seen some restaurant growth recently with the additions of Napoli Italian Eatery and Jumbo’s Beef & Brew.

In the meantime, there was also some confusion on Bob & Luigi’s. Although the Woodlawn location closed some time ago, there is still a separately owned and operated Bob & Luigi‘s in Andover.

If I hear more on Los Cunados, I’ll be sure to let you all know.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
