Fast Food Breakfast Series: Spangles

Continuing on with our Fast Food Breakfast Series, we visited Spangles. With remote school and work-from-home, this has given us an opportunity to add a little fun at home and involve everyone. This is a restaurant that is frequented every so often for lunch or dinner but for the kids Spangles was a relatively new experience.

Our breakfast order at Spangles consisted of:

• Breakfast pita with sausage, eggs and cheese
• Ooey Gooey Pancakes
• Ton of hash browns
• Cinnamon & Sugar mini donuts
• Orange Juice Slush (minus the vodka)
• Iced Mocha Coffee

For me, I knew exactly what to expect. I’ve been to Spangles for breakfast many times and have had so many things on their menu like their breakfast bowls and an assortment of different breakfast sandwiches. This time I went the pita route with hash browns and an orange juice slush on the side. The meal was very filling with the pita stuffed with plenty of eggs and sausage. Their golden crispy hash browns which could pass for tater tots are some of the best in the fast food market and I’ve always loved their orange juice slush. Since it was 8 a.m., I opted not to include vodka in my slush.

The ooey gooey pancakes were served with the cinnamon glaze, vanilla icing and maple syrup on the side since it was to go. They were still warm and soft upon arriving home and pretty good by fast food standards. Let’s face it, nothing beats a big homemade fluffy pancake but if you’re on the go, these are pretty convenient.

I was told the cinnamon and sugar mini donuts tasted like fried churros. And to end the breakfast, I was also told the ice mocha was “surprisingly good”.

All in all, it was a good stop in our fast food breakfast series. In all of our visits so far, Spangles would rank in the top tier. We still have a lot to go so stay tuned for our next review.
