Simple Life Sweets has a quaint little space right off Meridian.
Seating is limited inside, but there are chairs for those who would like to enjoy a coffee, hot tea, milk, or juice with their treats should you choose to stay.
The treats they have on hand are in the display case. There were many to choose from on my visit. There were cookies, donuts, cinnamon rolls, brownies, muffins and more to choose from.
While I don’t have any of the food allergies they cater to, that didn’t stop me from placing an order for some sweets. I ordered their apple crisp, blueberry crumb coffee cake and a half-dozen cookies.
Some of my experiences with gluten-free desserts in the past have not been the most ideal to put it lightly. But I have to hand it to Simple Life Sweets, their treats were really impressive. I was particularly a big fan of their apple crisp which really hit the spot.
It seems like gluten-free cookies are dry, but that wasn’t the case here. Their snickerdoodle cookie was soft and delicious.
Simple Life Sweets serves a segment of diners that has grown in recent years. It’s nice to see that they put out a product that is delicious not just for those with food allergies but for everyone. They aren’t sacrificing the most important part in the treats which is the taste.
Check them out in Valley Center.
