First Look at Broadway Mart-N-Diner

A new convenience store called Broadway Mart-N-Diner opened earlier this year. Inside they have a full kitchen and a big menu of burgers, sandwiches, chicken meals, breakfast and more. I’ve been hearing some good things about them so decided to go check it out for myself.

Walking in the place has the feel of a small-town convenience store, there were knick-knacks, groceries, tools, etc all on hand. It was actually quite a handy little spot on Broadway.

But let’s face it, the sole purpose for my visit was the food. Broadway Dine-N-Mart is owned by a couple who worked hard through COVID to get their business up and going. They were incredibly nice and friendly to talk to. I let them handle the order for me and make suggestions.

The wife told me her favorite was the Aloha sandwich which was a deli smoked ham topped with Swiss cheese and pineapple slice on a glazed donut. It came with donut fries drizzled with a chocolate sauce. That sounded great so I went with it. They were also advertising mini-waffles with fruit on their Facebook page and asked for a strawberry and peach one.

It was definitely a hearty but extremely delicious meal. The waffles were about the size of a coaster and freshly made to order. Once topped with the fruit and some whipped cream, it was a rather heavenly way to start my lunch.

The donut fries were devoured immediately. They came right out of the fryer, were pillowy soft and nearly melted in my mouth.

All of that was finished off with the Aloha sandwich. I could feel my chest thumping with every bite but it was worth it. The donut was about as soft as the donut fries but remained intact throughout the course of eating the whole thing. Pineapple and ham go fantastic together, but who would have thought a donut in the mix would take it up a notch?

I was thoroughly impressed with both my breakfast and lunch items. Some people may not go here based off appearance or area of town but I implore you to give them a try. It’s certainly a gem of a place ran by an extremely nice couple. The wife was truly a sweetheart and helpful and caring every step of the way.

It’s one of those places you know they appreciate you the moment you walk in the door. You just feel it. You’re not just another customer or sell to them.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
