Wichita’s newest donut shop quietly opened this month so let’s help get the word out on Donut Palace. It’s located in the former Sonic building on North Broadway. They are open every day of the week from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Here’s what to expect.

When I arrived well past the breakfast rush, there was a good selection of donuts and other breakfast items to choose from like sausage rolls, croissants and even biscuits and gravy available.
I ordered a half dozen donuts and the biscuits & gravy. All of their creme-filled donuts sounded great as did a regular glazed, maple and a blueberry.
Each of the donuts were great. My favorite was probably the blueberry which was funny because I’m not typically a fan of cake donuts. It was moist, light and tasted like fresh blueberries.
Since I grabbed everything to go, I ate the biscuits & gravy and probably suffered a few burns on the roof of my mouth like pizza rolls straight from the oven. There were big chunks of sausage in the gravy which sold me on everything.
As I was leaving, the owner tossed in a bag of donut holes. The picture doesn’t to it justice but they were some of the biggest donut holes I’ve seen.
I definitely enjoyed my first visit to Donut Palace and wish them the best on their opening.
