Checking out Master Wok at Towne East Square

Master Wok

While at the mall, my daughter and I were looking for a quick meal. Everybody else in our family was shopping and we needed a break to get our grub on. I realized there was one food option in the mall I had yet to write about: Master Wok.

Master Wok is your typical mall food court Chinese restaurant. They had around eleven options of food to choose from. All your standard item meals were there like General Tsos Chicken, Orange Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein….. essentially all versions of chicken possible in quick service Chinese cuisine.

They had a two entree combo for $7.79. We went with that and ordered the BBQ chicken and the General Tsos chicken with lo mein instead of rice. With my daughter, I never know how picky she’s going to be so I went with the three safest options imaginable.

The portion sizes for the two entrees weren’t a ton but it was enough to feed the both of us. The BBQ chicken was quite delectable. It was tender, juicy and quite flavorful. My daughter was loving it. It’s not often she takes a bite and says “More?” over and over unless its French fries. I had a few bites and loved it to but let her do most of the work. The General Tsos chicken was decent. It was a little tougher but not that bad. The lo mein noodles were quite oily and greasy. My daughter had a bite and decided to stick with the BBQ chicken.

For the most part, we didn’t have any glaring complaints about the food. We had a happy plate between the both of us. We weren’t expecting much from Master Wok and neither should you. It’s there out of convenience and probably the only reason you’ll stop by. It’s obviously not the best Chinese food in town but if you’re in a pinch at Towne East, I’d have no problem eating there again.

Plus the staff there seems to be one of the hardest working at the mall; constantly trying to lure in customers with free samples. I respect the hustle.

Here’s the menu:

Happy Dining,
