Doo-Dah Diner’s new concept introduces pizza to-go in the evenings

Back in February, owners at Doo-Dah Diner asked me to round up some local foodies in town to taste test a new concept they wanted to start. The popular downtown diner closes at 2 p.m. leaving them a wide time span where the restaurant sat empty and unused. They had an idea to introduce Doo-Dah’s Pizza After Dark.

The new concept allows customers to order wild and zany creative 12-inch pizzas that use many of the ingredients used from their breakfast and lunch menu.

I invited many members of The Neighborhood food panel along with other local foodies and bloggers. During our visit we tried such creations as Prime French Dip pizza, Pork Belly & Grits pizza, and Meatloaf pizza.

We sample around 6-7 different pizzas and submitted our feedback to Doo-Dah Diner. They then spent the next month and a half perfecting their pizzas. At the bottom of this blog, you’ll find their pizza menu. Two of the pizzas on there that stuck out for me personally were the Double Stack and Meatloaf pizza. I’m a sucker for anything meatloaf so I knew I’d love it.

If you’re wanting to order a pizza, they are available Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The diner’s dining room will still be closed so these pizzas are available only via drive-thru or delivery. Orders can be placed online via their website.

For more on the pizza, take a look at this video put together by the guys over at Live Local ICT.
