Fast Food Breakfast Series: Sonic Drive-In

Continuing on with our Fast Food Breakfast Series, we visited Sonic Drive-In. This whole series started when the kids were doing remote school but with them going back, it has been hard to find time to get everybody together. Fortunately, the schedules aligned and we checked out the popular drive-in restaurant.

Our breakfast order at Sonic Drive-In consisted of:

• Ultimate Meat & Cheese Breakfast Burrito
• SuperSonic Breakfast Burrito
• Junior Sausage, Egg and Cheese Burritos
• French Toast Sticks
• Cinnabon Cinnasnacks
• Tater Tots
• French Vanilla Cold Brew

The kids have never had breakfast from Sonic, so this was an entirely new experience for them.

With the various breakfast items we ordered, I’m not entirely sure any one item was a big hit for them. For starters, the junior breakfast burritos are definitely junior. They were almost the size of a clenched fist with not much filling inside. The bigger burritos were a better value and had plenty of sausage, egg, bacon, cheese, tater tots, and cheese sauce in it but it was missing something that I couldn’t put my finger on. Maybe it was salsa; I don’t know. It really just fell flat for me.

The Cinnasnacks were underwhelming according to the kids. They might have had one a piece and called it quits. The French toast sticks were alright; a little flimsy and soggy but part of that could have been caused from the drive home.

Honestly, the best part was the tater tots. We love Sonic’s tater tots, so this was already expected.

Compared to the other stops we’ve made around town, Sonic is probably on the lower echelon of fast food breakfast places we’ve visited.
