After closing in 2018, Jerry’s Bar & Grill opened for business earlier this month under new ownership. It’s a bar I have many fond memories and wanted to stop by to check it out. While their grand opening isn’t taking place until May, I swung by to get a sneak peek at what to expect for others who look forward to returning to relive some good times.

Here’s what the new interior look like. The dance floor/stage is still there towards the middle of the bar.
My visit was brief and consisted of a single cocktail as I was just stopping by. I asked to take a look at the food menu. It’s only temporary until the kitchen can put together a full menu. I literally only planned to grab a drink and leave but was talked into trying their Potato Croquettes which included mashed potatoes, cheddar, bacon, bread crumbs, and chipotle crema. It was essentially tater tots on steroids.
The pictures don’t do them justice as the individual croquettes were big in size. The mashed potatoes gave it a soft texture and each bite had a nice bacon aftertaste. I particularly loved the chipotle crema sauce which had a zing to them with a bit of heat. I’m a sucker for good condiments around town and this was certainly a good one.
There was a gentleman by me who struck up a conversation. He ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I awkwardly asked if I could take a picture. Fortunately, he obliged without asking any questions why. Another gentleman would come up to the bar and order the exact same thing….. must be a popular item.
