Señor Munchies
Have you ever heard of Señor Munchies? They are a Latino-inspired candy, nut and gift shop located at Juarez Plaza at 1052 N Waco in the same strip that holds Molino’s Cuisine and Juarez Bakery. It’s probably best compared to a place like Nifty Nuthouse but specializing in Latino culture.
The owner and her family are from Mexico and on a trip back home, they came across a very cool candy store. They hoped to one day have something similar back in Wichita. Years later, Señor Munchies transformed from a dream to a reality.
They really do have it all. There are local gifts and knick knacks.
If you’re there for treats, they have that too. A big assortment of candy lines the side wall. There are pinatas perfect for any celebration and candy and treats that can be purchased by the pound. I actually came strictly for a snack cake called Gansito and was told they are working on getting that.
Nuts are also part of the allure and they have a ton of options when it comes to that.
If you’re looking for cold treats, they have eight flavors of paletas available.
At certain times of the day, they also have elote but it wasn’t ready yet when I arrived. Overall, it was a very cool option. I had fun browsing around at different goodies not commonly found at other candy stores in town. I spoke to whom I believe was the owner, she had such a happy and positive vibe to her.
Señor Munchies is worth a stop for everyone in Wichita. It’s really great to have shops like this that offer something different and unique.
You can find them at 1052 N. Waco. Their hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, and closed on Mondays. For more, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
