Cards On Yards
There’s been a huge trend I’ve seen over the past year and much of that can be attributed to Cards On Yards. With the pandemic, social distancing, people have been coming up with different ways to celebrate occasions. Whether it’s wishing someone happy birthday, a graduation acknowledgement or an “I Love You”, the big cards you’ve seen on yards have been a big hit!
Cards On Yards is a local business started here in Wichita by Amanda Jolley. The business is very simple, it’s essentially a big greeting card that is displayed on someone’s yard. It’s exactly what it says it is… A card on a yard. Many people use them to surprise their friends and family with memorable personalized yard greetings. We’ve even had family use one before for someone’s birthday during her quarantine birthday.
The ideas for the cards have ranged from engagements, baby announcements, graduations, open houses for realtors, business reopening, weddings or something as simple as your husband finally leaving the toilet seat down with the toilet paper facing the right way. It sure beats having a guy stand outside in a rabbit outfit holding a cardboard sign.
Or even a big thank you to our public heroes is a great use of Cards on Yards!
The process is very simple. You book your greeting card through their website, they deliver, set it up and remove the yard greeting the next day.
Had I known about these greetings, I would have had this display on my yard everyday up until my daughter’s birth. Now….. I need one that says, “She’s a toddler and turned into the city’s biggest diva!”
And what you’re probably wondering next, the price. Pricing for a 24-hour rental period for the yard card starts at $100.
For more on Cards On Yards and their yard greetings, check out their website, visit their Facebook page, or give them a ring at 316-213-9043. Lastly, if you live in the Hays, Great Bend, Grainfield and Lee’s Summit area, Cards On Yards has recently expanded to both of those cities and also offer photo booths.
