The Hill Bar & Grill Revisited

Back when I had more time to get out for drinks, The Hill Bar & Grill, was on my friend’s rotation of places to meet for after work cocktails and beers….. and sometimes shots. Through all that time, we would rarely go for food. My experience in that realm at The Hill was limited to appetizers. Food was almost an afterthought. But since I was meeting some friends for lunch, I decided to switch it up and focus on the food this time. Here’s The Hill Bar & Grill Revisited…

We asked our server for suggestions on an appetizer to start with. She recommended the crab and chorizo dip which was lump crab meat and chorizo blended with their house beer cheese sauce and topped with queso fresco and chopped cilantro. We all loved it. The chorizo and crab gave the queso an extra salty yet somewhat spicy kick. It was a fine take on queso that resonated with everyone’s taste buds.

For our entrees, we had the corned beef panini, pear and gorgonzola salad with shrimp, and even though it was $5 burger Mondays, I spent the extra $4 and ordered the Spicy Pepperjack Burger with a side of tots.

We were so caught up in conversation, I didn’t even bother to ask anybody their thoughts on food, but I could certainly share mine. My burger came with grilled serrano peppers and jalapeno bacon which certainly gave the burger some bite. I absolutely adored the jalapeno bacon and The Hill was definitely generous with it. It was a thick heavy burger; the patty was slightly on the drier side but not to the point it took so much away from the whole experience. It was seasoned well and had plenty of toppings to give it some character. One things for sure, nobody would leave hungry after it.

A huge bright spot for us was the service. Our server did a fantastic job throughout lunch and made sure everyone was taken care of. She was friendly and on top of everything.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
