We were wanting some Thai food and decided to go somewhere we haven’t been in a while, Promise Thai Cuisine. It’s one of the less talked about Thai options in town, but a place that’s always been worth it. One of the owners has been working the front of the house for as long as I can remember and always one of the most polite servers/bussers/owners/cashiers/do it all people you’ll find.

On our lunch stop, we started off our lunch with a couple of soups. I went with a Tom Yum Kai soup with medium heat, and we were also given a standard soup as one of their lunch specials.
As far as any Tom Yum soup goes, Promise Thai was right up there with all the others in town in terms of quality. I loved its mix of sour and spiciness.
For our main entrees, we ordered the BBQ spare ribs and Chicken Num Prig Pao which was stir-fried chicken with chili paste, onions and celery. Both orders came with steamed rice.
The lunch-sized portion of the Chicken Num Prig Pao looked small at first, but was quite filling by the time I was done. The chicken was so tender it nearly melted in my mouth. I loved the sauce it was sitting in. Once I poured it over the bed of rice, it was just the right amount of food to get me through the day without feeling stuffed. The BBQ spare ribs came out with three ribs that felt like the length of the Nile. After two, Megan was done as they were really meaty. She was a big fan of them and enjoyed the Thai BBQ sauce that had a slight sweetness to it.
All in all, it was another great visit to Promise Thai Cuisine. In all my years eating there, they’ve never let us down. The owners are incredibly hard-working. I believe it’s always a two-person operation when I go yet despite how busy they are, the service is never slow.
