Wichita’s Guide to Shaved Ice and Sno-Cone Stands, Trucks and Carts

It’s getting hot out which means it’s time to cool yourself down with some shaved ice or snow cones. They are readily available all over town but perhaps you need some help finding where to go. Wichita By E.B.’s got you covered. I did the research, consulted my Food & Booze Directory and compiled a list of the options for you around Wichita.

Wichita Locations:

The ‘Berg: The mobile bus changes locations around town. You’ll want to follow their Facebook page to see where they will be parked at.

Big Chill Ice Cream: This mobile party truck will be reopening this June. You’ll want to follow their Facebook page to see where they will be parked at.

Cone Heads: This is a new shaved ice option located at 520 N West Street. They operate 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Carousel Skate Center: Did you know Carousel Skate Center has a new outdoor play area to the west of their building. It’s complete with it’s own shaved ice stand!

Flamingo Sno Shaved Ice: Located at 600 S. Tyler. Flamingo Sno has 70 flavors and 10 sugar free options. They operate daily from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Frost Bites: One of the newer shaved ice stands is at the southeast corner of Kellogg and Rock Road by Mattress Firm. They operate everyday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Frozen Skull Italian Ice: Not exactly shaved ice or a snow cone but Italian ice is just as good. They are often found at the Keeper but do move around. You can follow their Facebook page to see where they will be parked at next.

Funky Monkeys Shaved Ice: The shaved ice stand can be found at 3350 N Woodlawn in the Home Depot parking lot as well as 1855 S. Rock Road. They have over 100+ flavors, a patio, and a drive thru. They operate daily from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Ice Caps Shave Ice: This shaved ice stand has two locations. One kiosk at 7200 W 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67212 on the NW corner of 13th & Ridge East location where they operate Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Their second location is a mobile trailer at Towne East Mall Von Maur and JC Penny in front of where Noodles & Co was. Those hours are Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Kona Ice: The shaved ice truck is a mobile one that frequently changes location. You can follow their Facebook page to see where they will be parked at next.

La Morelense: Expand your cool treat horizons with nieves de garrafa and raspados from La Morelense. They can be found at the corner of 21st and Jackson Street on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mimi’s Eskimo Snow: While this shaved ice truck can be found at random events around town, they are usually located at 2445 S. Seneca St at Westway Marketplace.

The North Shore Shave Ice: While they have historically operated at 37th and Woodlawn in front of O’Reilly’s, this Hawaiian Shave Ice truck has moved around to different location. You can follow their Facebook page to see where they will be parked at next.

Outside of Wichita:

Brain Freeze: Located at 604 E Ross St. in Clearwater. They operate from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Breezy’s Snow Shack: Located at 323 S. Meridian in Valley Center. They operate from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. everyday except Sunday.

Candy Cones: Located at 1100 E. Grand Avenue in Haysville. They have a Christmas themed snow cones stand that is very festive and a play area with plenty of yard games to choose from.

Mrs. Cole’s Tropical Sno: Located at 103 N. Main Street in Goddard, this shaved ice business offers 30 flavors to choose from. At the moment, they only offer walk up service as their indoor dining area is closed. They operate Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m to 9 p.m.

Rockin Ricos Gourmet Sno Balls: The mobile truck can be found at 1300 N Nelson Drive. They offer New Orleans Style Snow Balls which are different from your standard sno cones. They operate daily from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Slushy Hut – Summer Snow: This kiosk can be found at Andover Square at Central and Andover Road. They have over 110 flavors to choose from along with a small patio area for you to enjoy your cool treats. They operate Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Snoasis Shaved Ice: They have two locations: one in Augusta at 615 State Street and a second at 340 Silknitter in Rose Hill, KS. They offer not just shaved ice but dole whip as well. They do make appearances at Wichita events as well though.

Chilly Goat Shaved Ice: Located at 815 N Main Street in Newton, KS, they are a Hawaiian style shaved ice stand that operate everyday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. except for Sunday when they are closed.
