Goebel Liquor, The Home of “Rob’s World of Beers”

This isn’t a review, but more so a blog of appreciation to a liquor store that has never let me down. Goebel Liquor, The Home of “Rob’s World of Beers”, established in 1968, has been serving Wichita for many years and helping beer connoisseurs find exactly what they want.

The beauty of Goebel is their beer selection. They have over 2,000 different craft beers in stock. And if beer isn’t your thing, they have a vast selection of wines, spirits and cocktails. And with a selection that big, sometimes it can be overwhelming for people.

My favorite part about Goebel has been the knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. Many years ago, my friends and I were tired of the long lines at the Midwest Beer Fest. One year, we all skipped the event. Every one tossed in $50 and we took our hundreds and hundreds of dollars and bought all the beer we could with our money. The staff at Goebel walked us through what to get, explained to us everything we were getting, and helped us select the right beers for our own Beer Fest. The event went off without a hitch thanks to Goebel.

If you’ve never been inside Goebel Liquor, here’s a look inside:

Anytime I’ve been looking for a beer, Goebel has always had it. Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for Golden Road Brewing’s beers, Melon Cart, Mango Cart and Pineapple Cart. Some liquor stores around my house had Mango Cart, but none in my area had Melon Cart and Pineapple Cart. I called Goebel and to no surprise, they had it in stock. I immediately drove over, purchased the variety pack, and got my new baby home safely.

My weekend was made thanks to Goebel Liquor.

Goebel Liquor is located at 352 S. West Street. For more information, check them out on Facebook or visit their website.

  1. This is my go to beer store.

But you said staff was knowledgeable.

Every time I ask for comparable beers… or wines… they don’t even get it close. Wassupwiddat?
