National S’Mores Day | August 10
Celebrate National S’mores Day with the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland at 360 Lexington Road! This is a free come-and-go family event with hot dogs, and of course, s’mores!

1 Million Cups at Groover Labs | August 11
1 Million Cups is a free, weekly national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Every Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m., one or two early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of their peers, mentors, educators, and advisors.

Food Truck Thursdays at Exploration Place | August 12
Food Truck Thursdays takes place every Thursday at Exploration Place. Different food trucks will be on hand every Thursday. Grab a drink from the bar, jam out to live music, play games, and more all while you enjoy our scenic view of the Keeper of the Plains. Plus, bring the whole family to check out their exhibits. The event is free for EP members. Guest rates run $15 in advance or $20 per car at the gate.

You can hear his album on Sirius XM, he’s been a new face on Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, he’s been on MTV’s “Video on trial”, Bravo’s “Queer as Folk”, NBC’s “The Bridge”. Michael has written and produced several short films and most recently has his hilarious short film, “Where’s My White Privilege?” That just premiered at the Just For Laughs comedy festival and is premiering at other festivals around the country.

87th NBC World Series | August 4 – 14
NBC World Series takes place from August 4th – 8th at Hobart-Detter Stadium in Hutchinson. Everything then moves over to Riverfront Stadium from Monday, August 9th – 14th.

Goddard National Night Out | August 13
Come out and join the Goddard Police Department, Goddard Chamber of Commerce as well as other law enforcement agencies local businesses and organizations for the annual Goddard National Night Out. Some of the highlights include a helicopter landing, a display of many emergency vehicles, a dunk tank, live music from The 99, and much more! Come on down to Walton’s to watch 75 teams compete in a Steak Cookoff Association competition to see who cooks the ultimate steak! Walton’s Steak Cookoff event will once again be raising money for the “Air Capital Flyers” For a $10 ticket, customers will have access to mouthwatering samples from some of our local vendors such as Bash Brothers BBQ, Chile Slingers, and Noble Salts. Customers will also have the chance to try two of Wichita’s favorite food trucks, The Flying Stove and the Underdog Food Truck for unique & delicious foods.
