1 Million Cups is a free, weekly national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Every Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m., one or two early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of their peers, mentors, educators, and advisors.
■ SummerBall Showdown 2021 | August 4 – 8
The SummerBall Showdown is a Collegiate Baseball Event surrounded with a unique community driven atmosphere. Their Mission is to provide a National Tournament for Summer Collegiate teams that is player and community focused. The SBS will imprint upon the community and the individuals participating in the 5-day event.

NBC World Series takes place from August 4th – 8th at Hobart-Detter Stadium in Hutchinson. Everything then moves over to Riverfront Stadium from Monday, August 9th – 14th.

Join the Thursday evening “Moonlight Tour” and experience the house in it’s original lighting atmosphere. You will view the main rooms of the Allen House while learning about the house, design and general information from an experienced Docent.

Food Truck Thursdays takes place every Thursday at Exploration Place. Different food trucks will be on hand every Thursday. Grab a drink from the bar, jam out to live music, play games, and more all while you enjoy our scenic view of the Keeper of the Plains. Plus, bring the whole family to check out their exhibits. The event is free for EP members. Guest rates run $15 in advance or $20 per car at the gate.
■ Little Shop of Horrors at Roxy’s Downtown | August 5 – 8
They’ve been feeding this plant all year long and it’s ready to make its debut on Roxy’s Downtown stage in August. Originally planned for the same time, last year, join Seymour, Audrey, Mr. Mushnik, Orin Scrivello and the Urchins as they recount the story of this little shop – full of horrors. Come watch as Roxy’s put its spin on this classic musical with a little darker interpretation following the lead of a few more of the contemporary productions produced in the past few years.
■ Wichita Brewing Co. Ten Year Anniversary Party | August 6 – 7
It is WBC’s ten-year! We will be celebrating with beer specials all day long (East location on August 6 and West location on August 7th ) There will also be live music and of course pizzas!
■ Family Movie & Game Night at Naftzger Park | August 7
