For the latest installment in the “Must Try Menu Item” I stopped by Mexi-Kan Kitchen. They are a fast casual Mexican restaurant located on Rock Road in Derby, KS. The restaurant originally started off as a food truck but eventually grew a big enough following to open their own brick & mortar establishment.
With the Must Try Menu Item Feature, it’s our job to make at least one worthwhile recommendation. At Mexi-Kan Kitchen, I was hoping to try something other than tacos. I came across their Asada Fries meal and knew instantly this was one dish many people would love.
The Asada Fries come with meat, fries, nacho cheddar sauce, shredded cheese, pico and sour cream. They were $4.99 for a small, $8.99 for a regular and $11.99 for a large. I had a meal that came with a heaping pile of tots as if I needed more potatoes other than the fries along with a drink.
The regular was big enough of a meal for two of us to share. This could also work well as an appetizer among friends. There was what felt like an endless amount of fries, cheese and diced up meat. It was so much, the two of us couldn’t finish it up. It was a heavy delicious meal that was even better with some of the hot salsas they had out.
