Willie's Sports Bar & Grill Review

While out in El Dorado, one place I was referred to by many people was Willie’s Sports Bar & Grill. I decided to go ahead and stop by over lunch and the place was packed. It felt like the entire city of El Dorado was inside. Despite the packed house, I was able to find a table and get a first-hand look at the locally owned bar and grill.

Everybody who suggested Willie’s to me had their recommendations on what to get. After perusing through the menu, their wings caught my eye. It helped that somebody near me ordered them and they looked very appealing.

I ended up with an order of 12 Willie’s Wings which were advertised as deep-fried and crispy. I went with their spicy garlic and BBQ flavors. They arrived in no time and visually they looked fantastic. They weren’t overly sauced which was a great start.

My only gripe about the wings were they weren’t overly meaty. I know there’s a wing shortage and delivery issues with food, so that could have been a reason for it, so I tried not to put much focus on that. Instead, I want to talk about their sauces… deeeelicious. The spicy garlic was my favorite of the two, and there was no doubt in my mind I needed more of that in my life. It had a slight citrus-like taste at the start, but immediately packed a small flavorful punch at the end. If they sold a spicy garlic steak, spicy garlic hamburger with a side of spicy garlic fries and a spicy garlic Coke on the menu, I would have ordered ALL of it.

My server appeared to be training that day, and kudos to her. She did an outstanding job. Just watching everything, the entire staff did superb handling the busy lunch hour. Everybody was on their toes, helping each other out and working like a team. Two thumbs up for Willie’s from me.
