Barn’rds Restaurant Revisited

While out in the northwest part of town, I was trying to think of where to grab a quick lunch. Then it dawned on me, Barn’rds Restaurant was right down the street from where I was at. After that, it was a no-brainer for me.

It’s all about the sandwiches and sides for me at Barn’rds. The toughest part on every visit is trying to decide which sandwich to get. They are all so delicious. If I had the appetite of a professional eater, I’d order every one of them.

For my latest visit, I went with the supreme sandwich which was roast beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, lettuce and dressing. With the sides, I always get at least two: pasta salad and the fries.

Their fries were nice and crispy and if I had to choose best fries regardless of being a chain, a locally owned restaurant, a food truck or whatever, Barn’rds fries are top five in my book. While they don’t need any dipping sauces, I live for their BBQ and homemade horseradish sauce. What I love about the pasta salad was that it had no black olives and was the perfect ratio of noodles to dressing. Call me crazy but I hate black olives in my pasta salad.

Then there was the supreme sandwich. It had everything going on. Every single aspect of the sandwich was perfection to me. The bread was firm yet incredibly soft, the toppings were placed on there to the point it was plentiful but not taking away from the sandwich and there was a hefty amount of meat to leave you satisfied. It really was a picture perfect sandwich.

I see another move in my future and as crazy as it sounds, having a Barn’rds nearby along with good schools might be the deciding factor in where we choose to live.

  1. We order the supreme “Hot”. For some reason when they moved west only the beef was served warmed up and the rest was cold. We now order the sandwich hot. I wonder if they have figured out people want warmed sandwiches. Many complaints I heard from westsiders were their sandwiches were cold.

Was your sandwich warm or cold?
    We love Barn’rds!
