If you love eating for a good cause, mark your calendar down for Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chef Tom Jackson who hosts the awesome YouTube channel, The Sauce, is hosting a burger popup event at All Things BBQ to benefit ShowerUp, a non-profit organization that serves those experiencing homelessness with mobile shower units.
Located at 818 W. Douglas, you can stop by anytime between 11 and 2 to help the cause. You can bring $10 per burger or a sleeping bag in exchange for a burger. All proceeds will go to benefit the homeless.
The $10 donation or sleeping bag will get you one of Chef Tom’s delicious Smash Burgers that include 2 Creekstone Meats brisket blended patties, grilled onions, cheese and secret sauce. (Big shout out to Creekstone Meats for providing the burger patties)
If you’ve never heard of ShowerUp, it’s very cool cause that provides something we all take for granted…showering. Designed to be mobile, ShowerUp provides clean, safe and comfortable shower units for those experiencing homelessness. ShowerUp also provides hygiene and personal products. A ShowerUp mobile unit will be available for you to check out at the All Things BBQ Patio that afternoon.
