While revisiting restaurants throughout Wichita, one place I haven’t been to in a while is Passage To India. It’s one of the longer established Indian restaurants that has become popular for their lunch buffet.

The lunch buffet runs $11.77 after tax and as you can guess, takes place over lunchtime.
They have a handful of stations available that include dishes like tandoori chicken, vegetable pakora, curry, beef vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, vegetable biryani, aloo gobi, naan, and other fantastic dishes.
Here’s a look at the stations:
I ran through the buffet a few times and had some favorites like the tandoori chicken, vegetable pakora and chicken tikka masala. Oh and their naan bread was just out of this world. The beauty of Indian food for me is the different spices used in their dishes. So many of them aren’t commonly found in other ethnicities of food which makes it very unique. It’s not a genre of food a huge population of Wichita has had, so having the selection available in a buffet style really allows for people to branch out and try different things, all at a relatively affordable price.
I know with Indian food, there’s always the talk of “what’s authentic”. Like other countries, there are different regions in India that cover many styles and takes on dishes. My assumption is the general Wichita population probably couldn’t even tell you the distinction between the foods and regions, so why not just enjoy the style of food each restaurant offers.
And if buffets aren’t your thing, here’s their menu:
Happy Dining,
