I always see important news regarding restaurants. So, I figured why not put a bunch together when I see it for some quick hits on good things to know like temporary closings, hours changing, vacations, openings, etc.?
Fuji’s Asian Express Food: Fuji will temporarily be closed for a kitchen remodel starting October 11 and reopening in early November. Once they reopen, expect a new expanded menu.
Taco Fajita: The popular dollar taco restaurant will be closed until Tuesday, October 12th.
Po Boy Pizza: The restaurant located right by the old Southeast High School on Lincoln has been closed the past two days, but will reopen on Wednesday, October 6th.
Broadway Burgers & BBQ: Known for their burgers and BBQ as their name suggest, this restaurant has started opening on Mondays again effective immediately. They are open on the weekdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., then on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
Road Runner Mexican Food: They are a very popular north side food truck that also has a restaurant in Maize. Unfortunately, both the restaurant and food truck had to close due to a family emergency. While they were supposed to reopen this week, I have not heard confirmation whether that has been the case yet.
Taco Rio: Due to shortage of staff, Taco Rio has shortened their hours to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. except on Sunday when they are closed.
Pizza John’s: After closing for a week, the Derby pizza spot has reopened as of this week.
Mexi-Kan Kitchen: Derby’s quick-service Mexican restaurant is now open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The lobby will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Pho Ong 8: The Vietnamese restaurant on east Harry is no longer open on Monday and Tuesday. Their new hours are Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Mami Tere’s Mexican Kitchen: The new Mexican restaurant at 3088 W. 13th Street has changed their hours to Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. They will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Beautiful Day Cafe: And in case you missed it, Beautiful Day Cafe has closed permanently effective immediately.
