A new food truck has quietly opened at the corner Pawnee & Oliver in the parking lot of Froggy’s Liquor. It’s a well-deserving area, as there aren’t many food trucks that come to that part of town. The food truck is called Tacos Jalapenos. Their menu consists of tacos, tortas, quezadilla, burritos and chalupas.

It was a spur of the moment visit, but I wanted to stop by to get a first look at what people can expect.
There are just four meat options on the menu: asada, al pastor, barbacoa, and chicken. I ended up with two asada and two al pastor tacos. It took maybe all of seven minutes for my food to be ready.
Seriously, they were some of the best asada and al pastor tacos I’ve had from a food truck. There was plenty of meat to go around in each bite. All the meat was diced up and tossed around with the diced and grilled onions. Everything held up well with the dual tortillas and it was about as classic of a street taco taste as you could get.
The tacos came with two sauces: a mild and hot which each providing varying levels of heat.
It was a fantastic visit to Tacos Jalapenos. You don’t see too many food trucks in the south to southeast area of Wichita that are east of Broadway. So, this was a pleasant surprise for the neighborhood that should excite the nearby residents.
